Holy Baptism is administered in the context of the Sunday Eucharist. Candidates for baptism are infants & young children of members of the parish and older children and adults who desire to make a mature and public commitment to the Christian faith. Classes for parents and available godparents of infants and children precede each baptism date. Trinity Sunday June 7, 2009 will be the next available baptismal date. Please contact Mother Nancy or the church office if you have any questions. Baptismal forms can be found in the Church Narthex, Parish Hall or Office Foyer “Baptismal Forms” mailbox located in the Ministry Building.
We Are A Paper Recycle Site
Saint Anne is now a paper recycle site. The paper recycling container is located in the parking lot nearest Canterbury. Paper is welcome! Cardboard and phone books are not. We hope to fill the container each month so we can continue to offer this service to the community!
Progress on the Search for a New Rector
- The Parish Profile and Church
Deployment Office (CDO) search request
We have once again started a very active and exciting period for the search committee! During the month of May we reviewed information about a number of new interested and interesting priests. From those names, we selected five who we felt were the best potential match for our parish and conducted phone interviews with them. We are now in the process of selecting the ones about whom we would like to know more. At the same time, we are reviewing information on some additional priests who have just submitted their information.
This is a time full of hope as we move again toward decision-making. Your prayers for us and our parish in the days ahead are an important part of the process. Please continue to pray that we may discern God’s will in choosing a rector for Saint Anne.
Your search committee: Susan Alexander, Bonnie Bishop, Mack Bridges, Roger Buehler, Ted Carrington, Adriana Elliott, Russell Harrison, Dianne Hawkins, Allison Killian, Marilyn Pyeatt, Janie Ripley, Dave Snell, and Rosemary Udell.

Our Mission
We, the congregation of St Anne Episcopal Church, embracing unity not uniformity, respond to God’s call to be Christ’s presence in the world. Through our common life we dedicate ourselves to worship God, serve others, study the faith and proclaim the Gospel.
All Visitors Welcome
We invite all people to attend our services. One doesn’t need to be an Episcopalian or even familiar with the Episcopal Church to visit. Let us share with you the sacred story of Jesus Christ and the hospitality of our community.
Our prayer is that on this occasion of receiving Communion in the Episcopal Church, all visitors may find their lives strengthened in God’s grace and encouraged to love God and serve both neighbors and strangers in the name of Christ.
Children in Worship
In 1991, the congregation voted to use the name “Saint Anne” because of the significant connection she had with two children. She was the earthly grandmother of Jesus and she was the mother of Mary. Anne played a critical part in Mary becoming the mother of our Lord. Anne must have taught Mary to pray, to listen for the voice of God and to risk a “yes” when God called her. We are obliged to be like Saint Anne for the children in our community of faith. Part of our baptismal promise is that we will do all in our power to support the children of our parish to grow into the full stature of Christ.
The vestry strives to articulate and nurture the parish’s vision of who God is calling us to be.
• We welcome and include all people who seek God here and incorporate the gifts and talents each offers into our collective vision.
• We promote and celebrate the diversity of our congregation and seek to represent all our members’ views.
• We creatively seek out innovative ideas and best practices as to how we can answer God’s call.
• We strive to be inspired leaders who look for God in the world around us.
The vestry dedicates itself to the faithful stewardship of our parish.
• We serve the members of our parish who have entrusted us to help them carry out the mission God has given us.
• We prayerfully seek consensus on how to support the needs of our parish.
• We are accountable for the decisions we make concerning the spiritual, physical, and financial care of our parish.
• Individually, we give generously of our time and treasure and model stewardship for others.
The vestry commits to honest, two-way communication with all members of the parish.
• We will listen with open hearts and minds to all comments and concerns expressed.
• We will actively seek out and understand all aspects of issues raised and offer constructive solutions that look forward towards God’s call.
• We will convey a positive and consistent message through our communications, facilities, and ministries to our members, visitors and community.
• We will communicate positively and respectfully and avoid defensive, confrontational language and gossip.

Stephen Ministry
“Bear one another’s burdens,
Here at St. Anne, we are blessed by the care we give each other, both through prayer and through practical care. At the Litany of Healing each week, St. Anne parishioners pray for all who are “sick, injured or disabled”; for those who are “lonely, anxious, or despondent”; and for those who experience broken relationships or emotional distress. Anyone who experiences these kinds of problems has the prayers of the community. They also have St. Anne Stephen Ministers available to them.
Stephen Ministry is “laying on of ears.” It is simply having a friend who listens and walks with you through any dark time of your life. This person is with you to love you and to let you know that God and your church family care for you. Stephen Ministry is confidential, one-on-one, and distinctively Christian care-giving ministry. If you are experiencing stress or a problem of any kind, please contact Mother Nancy at the church office, phone 972-709-0691, or e-mail her at clayola@saintannedesoto.org to request a Stephen Minister. If you know of someone who might need a Stephen Minister, please talk with them about calling us. We would like to help.
and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Gal. 6:2
Tai Chi
Come to the Quiet. We had such a wonderful response to our first session of Tai Chi that we will be having another session for beginniners starting June 1st. Tai Chi is a practice that brings mind and body together, and can reduce stress. During tai chi, you focus on movement and breathing. This combination creates a state of relaxation and calm. Stress, anxiety and tension should melt away as you focus on the present, and the effects may last well after you stop your tai chi session. The next session has just begun in the parish hall on Monday nights from 7:00—8:00 pm the cost is $45. Feel free to invite a friend to join you. If you are interested or have further questions, contact Angie Hudson via email or phone. awhudson@tx.rr.com or 214-681-0523.
