Daughters of the King

The Daughters of the King (DOK) is an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, or churches in communion with it, who undertake a Rule of Life. This Rule of Life consists of two aspects: the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. A Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others and to become reflections of God's love throughout the world. Our main method of accomplishing this is through prayer.

Here at St. Anne, the DOK (The Jerusalem Chapter in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas) is your prayer team. We are available to help you carry the load of the cares and concerns of your heart – in a completely confidential way – through our action of daily intercessory prayer.
If you have need of prayer, please feel free to:

•Place your prayer request in the "Burden Box" located outside the doors of the Parish Hall;

•Give your prayer request to any of our members (you'll recognize us by the crosses we wear); or e-mail your request to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Our DOK members will be notified as soon as possible, and prayers for your intentions will begin, and continued throughout the month.

Service Project: To fulfill our Rule of Service, as mentioned above, our chapter will be working in close association with an organization that provides services/support to foster families as it works in alignment with Child Protective Services. This project will be on-going, and changing as we try to meet the needs of our coordinators. A major part of their need is to provide supplies for children when they're moved into protective custody. A list of preferred items is available for any donations you'd consider giving. The donation basket is located just outside the Parish Hall in our DOK "corner." Your assistance in any way would be most gratefully appreciated.

The DOK meets the first Sunday of the month at 10:15 a.m. (during the Sunday school hour) in St. Bridget's classroom. If taking this step to have a more intimate relationship with God through a life committed to prayer is interesting to you, please join us at one of our meetings. We will be happy to share with you our reasons for being dedicated to this beautiful ministry.

For information on the local chapter see the Church Office.
