We at Saint Anne Episcopal Church are pleased that you have inquired about conducting your marriage ceremony at our church. Working together with us will ensure that your wedding will be memorable to you and all your friends and loved ones. The Book of Common Prayer (Pg. 422) states: "Christian marriage is a solemn and public covenant between a man and a woman in the presence of God." This one statement shows the degree to which the Episcopal Church holds up the institution of marriage. It is this traditional richness and scriptural witness that the Church brings to every wedding ceremony. It is because of this deep respect we hold for the instituion of marriage that we have policies and requirements to be met by the parties. This, in turn, will give every marriage the soundest possible footing and the best chance for success. If a person is not a member of Saint Anne Episcopal Church but rather is an active member of another Christian church, the pastor of that church must contact the rector of Saint Anne to discuss how these policies and requirements will be met by the parties. In the Episcopal Church it is required at least one of the parties must be a baptized Christian.
